John Wimber Thought the Gospel Wasn’t Enough and Expected Church to Multiply Fish and Bread like Jesus

WimberLead03142018a.

John Wimber the founder of Vineyard churches said some troubling things in a 1995 interview with ABC News. He said he was disappointed that the church wasn’t multiplying fish and bread like Jesus. Wimber believes the church can only survive with signs and wonders, after all, what does the church have to offer?

What does the church have to offer? If the simple gospel about repentance and the forgiveness of sins isn’t enough, then there is a huge problem. To gospel isn’t window dressing. Signs and wonders are not the main event. This brief video really hits at the core of what’s wrong with the hyper-extreme signs and wonders charismatic movement. They don’t think the gospel is enough.

What began with a desire to see manifestations seen in the Bible, ended with a movement promoting manifestations that are not in the bible. They created their own manmade traditions because the gospel wasn’t enough.

Since God Has a Frog in His Throat Here Is How to Hear His Voice According to Charismaniacs

Charismaniacs, and even mainstream Evanjellyfish have bought into the idea that God has a frog in his throat and is hard to hear if he wants to speak and be heard. As a result there is an endless supply of resources teaching Christians how to hear his voice. Here are some examples.

From Apostle Jennifer LeClaire.

Hearing God’s voice is treated as a fishing expedition. Scripture shows that when God wants to be heard, he has a way of being heard. People didn’t have to buy endless books and seminars on how to hear God, as they sat around discerning impressions made upon their heart.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. (Exodus 3)

King Belshazzar made a great feast for a thousand of his lords and drank wine in front of the thousand.

Belshazzar, when he tasted the wine, commanded that the vessels of gold and of silver that Nebuchadnezzar his father[a] had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem be brought, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. Then they brought in the golden vessels that had been taken out of the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. They drank wine and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.

Immediately the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, opposite the lampstand. And the king saw the hand as it wrote. Daniel 5

God can set bushes on fire and write on walls if he needs to talk. This isn’t really an issue Christians need to get stressed out over as they buy endless resources and sit around for hours at a time fishing for God’s voice.

God has put his word in the scripture. Read it. Read it out loud if you want to hear his voice. God doesn’t have a frog in his throat.

Jesus Is Putting His Fist into the Hearts of People Says Lou Engle

Englelead03142018a.jpg

In a brief clip posted to Facebook, Lou Engle waxes nostalgic about past moves of God, and then talks about how Jesus the evangelist is putting his fist into the hearts of people now.

Lou Engle makes the mistake of putting spiritual encounters above proclamation of the word of God. His man made doctrine teaches that if people can only have an encounter with God, then they’ll be changed. Pharaoh had a series of amazing encounters with God, and we see how that worked.

Here are some helpful articles on the encounter gospel by Pirate Christian Radio’s Steven Kozar.

Dr. Michael Brown Endorses NAR Apostle Joseph Mattera’s New Book

matteralead03132018a

Dr. Michael Brown has just endorsed a book written by NAR Apostle Joseph Mattera (Yes he’s really NAR. This isn’t even a stretch. Mattera calls for a new apostolic reformation. Point three in the article linked.) called The Divided Gospel.

He also received an endorsement from Lance Wallnau

Wallnau03132018.jpg

Joseph Matter is listed as an apostle by The International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders, and is the Convener of US Coalition of Apostolic Leaders.

The endorsements from Brown and Wallnau seem a bit contradictory.

And while he does not endorse a dominionist theology in which the church takes over the world, he does call us to be Kingdom-minded believers as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission and advance the Kingdom of God.

Joseph opens up both eyes and shows us a gospel not just for individuals but for rulers and nations. This book is a guide to the lost gospel of the Kingdom and a message to the lost kings of the gospels.

Brown says Mattera is not endorsing a dominionist theology where the church takes over the earth, but Wallnau says this is about getting the gospel to rulers and nations.

Let’s take a look and see if Mattera has shades of dominionism.

He did write a Charisma article on seven reasons he’s not a Christian dominionist.

Here is the book description on Amazon for Ruling in The Gates: Preparing the Church to Transform Cities. (Yeah that doesn’t sound dominionist at all.)

Revival isn’t enough! This bold declaration marks a new call to action for Christians: Take your God-given position in the earth and begin facilitating the reign of Jesus Christ in every walk of life. Dr. Joseph Mattera issues this call based on sound biblical interpretation and the conviction that the Church must fulfill her role before the return of Jesus. God intends for the Gospel to permeate every realm of creation. So, in the next move of God, apostles and prophets will be involved in every facet of society, not just the Church. Only the Gospel has the blueprint for a healthy society, so true ministers of God strategically placed in every domain must lead the way for reform. Get ready to possess the land and rule in the gates. Discover your divine purpose on earth and learn how to prepare for the next move of God.

He wrote an article for 7CulturalMountains.com Can the Post-Election Church Win Back the Culture?

Apostle Joseph Mattera also considers himself as part of a new apostolic reformation.

3. Recognizing the apostolic can also help usher in a new apostolic reformation

Some proponents of the apostolic say it is evident the old way of doing things through hierarchical denominationalism is dead or dying (with the exception of Pentecostal denominations, like the Assemblies of God, most denominations are on the decline). By recognizing apostolic ministry we could further accelerate the apostolic reformation that is based on the galvanization of covenantal, voluntary associations of pastors and leaders in regions irrespective of denominational affiliations for the sake of reaching cities and nations.

This reformation recognizes visionary leaders in each region that God has anointed to unite the Body of Christ and bring societal change. Often denominational bishops and/or superintendents are just gifted administrators without the leadership capacity to galvanize churches to reach a city or nation. Recognizing apostolic leadership (irrespective of denominational affiliation) can remove this bottleneck and release the authority and power of the Kingdom of God in a city!

It’s interesting that Dr. Michael Brown has endorsed a book by the leader of a major apostle sending organization, when he seemed oblivious to the New Apostolic Reformation.

How to Get God to Do Tricks for You so You Can Be a False Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher (SATIRE)

Do you have a desire to be a false apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist, pastor or teacher? Having a hard time getting the false ministry to ignite? Yes? Well I have some helpful tips for you.

In order to have a successful false ministry you need God to show up and do weird things. What weird things? You need God to make them fall over, laugh, roll on the floor as if they’re on fire, and even electrocute them in a baptismal.

You could just preach about repentance and the forgiveness of sins, but everyone knows that’s not real revival or breakthrough. Without special tricks from God, repentance and forgiveness are less than window dressing.

Every successful leader of a heretical false ministry knows there is a price to pay in order for God to show up and do his tricks.

Todd White is a perfect example. He once got God to show up and electrocute people in a baptismal for him. All because he paid a price.

What’s that I’m sensing from you? Oh, you’re starting to wonder, but isn’t ministry about serving God? Oh, you silly n00b.

Ministry is all about you, you, YOU! Luckily God is all about making things about you, but only if you’ll pay a price.

Bill Johnson of Bethel Redding was given a cool ministry because he was willing to pay a price. One time God came and paralyzed him, and Bill consented. The result? A super swag false ministry where God comes and does a lot of tricks.

Remember, ministry isn’t about answering God’s call and serving him, it’s about having a desire for a ministry, then finding what price you must pay to have it.
