Andy Stanley’s North Point Community Church may need to issue parental advisories for suggestive content in their worship services. I found another instance of suggestive content during one of their official Sunday worship service openers. A few days ago I covered their use of “I love the way you turn me on” in a worship opener.
They have also done Can’t Stop the Feeling. I’ll post snippets of the original lyrics, then you can watch a video and hear for yourselves. They did some adjusting of the lyrics, but not enough.
Nowhere to hide when I’m getting you close
When we move, well, you already knowFeeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance, come on
All those things I should do to you(I can’t stop the feeling)
Wanna see you move your body
(I can’t stop the feeling)
The video with “baby I love the way you turn me on” at the end.
These really aren’t things we should hear in an official Sunday worship service. First because it takes the focus off of the Gospel and creates an entertainment atmosphere, and second maybe because parents don’t want their children hearing this stuff.
Oddly enough he has this graphic on their website.
