Dr. Michael Brown’s organization is now in the practice of attempting to stifle free speech on Youtube. They had a video of mine taken down. This is contradictory on his part because recently he showed concern about blatant censorship on Youtube.
Earlier this week I received an email from his organization requesting that I take down content from my channel. I had content on my channel that I used for source material, that was merely a direct copy of what’s on his channel. I also have content on my channel from his that has my commentary.
I understand his desire to protect his original content, so after getting the email I removed all of his content from my channel that was a direct copy of his material. I left videos up that included my commentary and opinion.
After I removed content that was clearly his that included none of my commentary and opinion, I thought I was fine. But then I saw the below in my channel’s admin section.
I guess all wasn’t well. Below is a screenshot of the video that’s been taken down. As you can see, it has my commentary, it’s not just a reproduction of his content.
Technically Dr. Brown’s organization may be in the right. I’m not sure about the nuances of how much content needs to be original. One thing I am sure of, Dr. Brown looks really inconsistent, because recently he blogged about his concerns on free speech on Youtube.

Dr. Brown is concerned about blatant censorship of free speech on Youtube, yet it looks like his organization may have used a technicality to stifle free speech and further censorship on Youtube.
I have emailed Brown’s organization.
I’m awaiting their reply.
I hope as the champion of free speech and as an enemy of blatant censorship on Youtube, his organization will reconsider things, and refrain from using rule technicalities to censor and stifle speech.
